In 1987, Jaime moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with his mother. He attended the newly formed Meadows School where he played football, basketball and ran track. Jaime was a member of the fourth graduating class.
Because the starting tailback forgot his helmet, Jaime managed to score the first touchdown in school history, on a muddy, smelly field in Alamo, Nevada.
Jaime attended Haverford College where he ran track and cross country. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Computer Science. After graduation he returned to Las Vegas to teach and coach at his alma mater, The Meadows School.
After one year of teaching, Jaime decided to pursue his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Maryland in College Park. He will receive his Master's in May 2003 and hopes to finish his PhD by 2005.
When not doing research, Jaime plays intramural basketball and flag football, and is an active participant in several graduate student organizations.
